ABOUT
US ~the Radio TEAM: David and Dona Birtwistle have been active dog breeders, trainers and exhibitors for more than 30 years. Their interest was initially with the German Shepherd Dog (GSD) breed and more recently in the pure rare breeds. Members of the Canadian Kennel Club for more than 25 years, they achieved multiple champion and obedience titles. Under the German Shepherd Dog Club of Canada (GSDCC) system they had numerous successes at the regional and national levels. This includes Futurity Victors and Victrixes, Maturity Victors and Victrixes, and a Grand Victrix. Under the German Shepherd Dog Club of America system they had the Highest Living Register of Merit Dam for several years. As members of the GSDCC they participated for many years in various committee positions and were members of the board of directors. David was editor of the club magazine for many years and Dona served as Show Chairperson for the national specialty show. David and Dona are now exploring the world of breeding, training and exhibiting pure rare breeds. They promote performance events through hosting herding instinct tests, obedience trials, lure coursing, temperament tests, and seminars for rare breed enthusiasts. David also assists a world class trainer during canine narcotic detection searches in central Canada. Professionally, Dona is a commercial credit specialist while David specializes in creating custom embroidery logos for the advertising specialty industry. "The growing popularity of the internet as an information source emphasises the need for true and accurate information in all things dog. We are pleased to join the Universal Dog team in this unique endeavour".
